Harper can’t even win against food

by Adam on Feb.04, 2010, under Miscellaneous Wondering

As Harper continues to insult Canadian democracy, Canadians conitue to insult Harper. It’s a fair deal.

The best part is that they’re doing it in a fun way. They simply ask can an onion ring be more popular on facebook than Stephen Harper?

I think the answer is yes. The group stared Feb 02 and two days later, well check the screenshot I took at 3:20.

Onion ring FTW

Harper’s Conservatives don’t understand reality

by Adam on Mar.18, 2009, under Miscellaneous Wondering

I know this is nothing new to anyone, but the current team of Conservatives MPs in Ottawa don’t believe in something called “science”.

I find this to be exceptional though:

Canada’s science minister, the man at the centre of the controversy over federal funding cuts to researchers, won’t say if he believes in evolution.

So the science minister is basically hinting that he doesn’t believe in science. WTF?!

So the CTV megamediacorp asks for clarification. What does the minister say, well, he uses an argument that he thinks supports evolution that clearly makes no sense:

“We are evolving every year, every decade. That’s a fact, whether it is to the intensity of the sun, whether it is to, as a chiropractor, walking on cement versus anything else, whether it is running shoes or high heels, of course we are evolving to our environment. But that’s not relevant and that is why I refused to answer the question. The interview was about our science and tech strategy, which is strong.”

Just to be clear, I couldn’t care less if he believes that god created the universe (besides we all know that I created it), but not believing in scientific fact that animals and plants evolve in change over time – insane!

Another sign that the Conservatives under Harper are destroying Canada. Or are they achieving their goal of making us the USA?

How can people support Harper?

by Adam on Oct.12, 2008, under election 2008

I have no problem being insanely open with my distaste for the Conservative party. I find it shameful that Canadians elected Harper’s party into Ottawa. He and his fellow ministers have show an ongoing disrespect for the courts (which Dion will restore), the environment, and Canadian culture. Oh, and they made a lot of cuts that hurt women, heritage, research, youth programs, and so much more.

And now Harper’s cronies have decided that the only way that the Conservatives will get elected is if they don’t speak what they actually think (take notes Chris Reid and Lee Richardson).

What’s more is that the Conservatives promise to re-introduce the Canadian DMCA. Formerly known as Bill-C61. here’s a list of candidates opposed to ridiculous copyright controls.

So on Tuesday get out and vote that jerk Harper and the Conservatives out of office.

BushHarper.com is almost good

by Adam on Oct.06, 2008, under election 2008

BushHarper.com is a website created by the Liberals to expose how similar Bush and Harper is. Great! Except that it’s poorly executed.

All that’s on the site is a picture of Harper and Bush shaking their dirty hands and two YouTube videos. The potential for this site is great and it would have been so much better had they created a website that totally believed that Bush and Harper are indeed running for office. If they put up more content than just two videos the site could be something that goes viral in Canada. Still, the videos have a good number of views since they were uploaded on Oct. 1 with 18,514 and 9,439 views respectively.

The videos also play as attack ads against Harper and are blatantly supporting the Liberals. Had the videos been all about the “good” things that the two neo-cons have done it would have more effect. It could attack the very root of what’s wrong their policies. But I guess by doing that the Liberals would also be criticizing their own stances albeit indirectly. We can’t forget that Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin were the ones who helped set the stage for neoconservatives in Canada.

Here are the videos from the site:

Conservatives don’t even help each other

by Adam on Sep.30, 2008, under election 2008

Fast forward to the two minute mark to see some dude faint then watch as nobody helps him for another twenty seconds. The conservatives literally never lend a helping hand to anyone. Well, that;s not true – they help those poor corporations.

I feel sorry for the kid, Harper is one boring person he makes me sleepy just looking at him.
